2012 “Nature in the City” Summer Camp

We’re excited to offer another year of our Nature in the City Summer Camp! Our beautiful campus includes a certified National Wildlife Federation Wildlife Habitat with a matching outdoor garden space for our younger campers that includes tall trees and plants that attract butterflies and birds, stump jumps for climbing and garden beds for planting and harvesting.

During our camp sessions, children will engage in individual and group projects and experiences where they will see, hear, touch and even taste nature, all while developing a lifelong love of the outdoors. Each week we will explore the elements of earth, wind, fire (sun), and water. Additionally, each Friday a special guest such as a musician, storyteller or animal will visit IPCP to enhance the session’s theme.

Each session lasts two weeks, but you can select just one week in a session. You can also choose some or all of the sessions.

Session 1 – June 4-15 Water, Water, Everywhere

Session 2 – June 18-29: Celebrate Summer (Pathfinders)| Make It, Break It, Fix It (Explorers)

Session 3 – July 2-13 (no camp July 4): Digging in the Dirt (Pathfinders) | Chickens, Eggs and the Earth (Explorers)

Founded in 1981 by a group of dedicated families, Inman Park Cooperative Preschool, otherwise known as IPCP, is cooperative preschool serving the needs of it’s community through tradition, imagination and lots of hard work.

IPCP is based in the cooperative structure in which parents are encouraged to get involved in their children’s early education- both in the classroom and out. We believe that the presence of parents in the classroom is a gift that we are able to give our children and that through parents volunteering their time, a rare sort of community and family is created and nurtured within our school’s walls.

IPCP’s curriculum is designed around the Creative Curriculum in which children learn through play. This philosophy is found both indoors and outdoors- in our beloved Outdoor Classrooms. With the belief that children should not be kept indoors, everyday children get to spend time exploring nature and experiencing a variety of hands-on learning adventures.

We welcome you to check us out online and visit our campuses and look forward to seeing you soon!
