• Our admission team is made up of a parent committee. Committee members read applications, conduct interviews, and score rubrics for prospective parents. Rubrics keep our process standardized.

Applications are not reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Instead, all applications will be reviewed by two members of the IPCP Admissions Committee and scored based on a rubric. Applications with the highest scores will be offered an interview by March 1.

During the interview we want to ask questions of you to ensure you have a full understanding of the responsibilities of joining a co-op. The interview flows like a conversation and is an enjoyable experience. We share about the school and allow time to answer questions about the school day and parent involvement. Interviews are for parents only.

After all interviews are completed, the committee reviews applications and rubrics. The director informs us of available spots and we send decision letters on or before April 1.

We do not offer rolling admissions. Admission season gives us the opportunity to open additional spots to families on a waitlist. If we have unfilled spots, they will go to the waitlist. If we move through our waitlist, then we may open the enrollment season.

  • We are unfortunately unable to determine this before applications are due. Current families (including siblings) as well as currently waitlisted families are granted priority for admission to the school. This, therefore, can alter the spaces that are available from year to year.

We also offer different schedules for children. Some children attend 5 days per week, some on Monday/Wednesday/Friday and some Tuesdays/Thursdays. These variations also make predicting spaces difficult.

We make every attempt to admit families who want to be a part of our community. If spaces become available throughout the year we closely monitor our waitlist.

  • We ask that you complete a few steps in our admission process so that you have a full understanding of our cooperative-based school. A cooperative school is run by parents who participate in committees. Our school day is run by a director and teaching staff.

    1. Attend Prospective Parent Meeting. If you are not able to attend either date please reach out to us at info@ipcp.org.

    2. Complete an application to the school including the $100 application fee.

    3. If you are invited, participate in 45 minute interview to learn about our school and ensure you understand the cooperative elements of the school.

  • We do not offer rolling admissions at our school. Instead, we offer spots on our waitlist during our admission season for families we are unable to accept at that time. As we live in a transient community, we do have spots become available throughout the school year. If a spot becomes available we will reach out directly from our current waitlist.

  • No, our classes are exclusively based on age at the start of the school year. Children born after September 1, 2022 will be eligible to enroll in the Toddler 1 class beginning with the 2024-25 school year – even if they may turn 2 shortly after the start of the school year.

The state of Georgia utilizes the September 1 cutoff date for children to enter elementary school who are ages 4 (PreK) and 5 (Kindergarten), and IPCP follows this model.

  • No, children will maintain the same class for the whole school year.

  • Tuition covers the school day instruction between the hours of 9:00am to 1:00 pm. Extended Care is available with additional costs.

  • Children arrive at school between 8:55-9:05 am and dismissal occurs 12:55-1:05pm.

  • Extended Care is offered in the mornings from 8:00-8:55 am, and afternoons with flexible pick up times between the hours of 1:00-5:00 pm.

  • IPCP offers an open enrollment for summer programming to both IPCP families and the general public. Our hours are from 9:00am to 1:00pm with 2 days, 3 days and 5 days per week options. We will release more information about Summer Camp on our webpage in early spring.

  • Students eat a morning snack and a lunchtime meal with their class. The parent helper provides a snack during their scheduled days in T2 and Preschool classes (T1 families provide a snack daily for their child). All parents pack a lunch for students to eat prior to being picked up.

  • At this time we do not accept CAPS (Georgia Department of Education Childcare and Parent Services assistance).

  • We do offer financial assistance via a private scholarship fund through the school. Please speak directly to our director, Emily Howland, for more information.
